Playing Catch Up- November

It is hard to believe that it is already December. Hence the red writing. It was 2.3 degrees this morning. Brrr.... Over the holiday weekend, it snowed more than a foot. Everything is really white now. It is nice to simply enjoy the fires in the evening and look out at the snow covered trees.
November passed quickly. We celebrated a lot of birthdays and hosted a lot of people which was fun. Bristol continues to grow and seems to get more giggly each day. He is really the happiest little guy. I continue to be thankful for so many things. It is a great time of year to think about all of the wonderful gifts that surround me.
Here are the highlights from the month...
Pumpkin Carving
All of the cousins came over and we held a carving party. It was fun to see all of the different designs.

Sleeping and Eating...
whatever he can get his hands on. Seems some days that is all we do, which is why many of the pictures reflect those two activities. He enjoyed the wrapping paper from Dad's birthday present (November 3).

Naptime. It is tough to be a baby.

My favorite part of this picture is that he is holding his own bottle these days.

These are for Grandpa Kratz. Trav can't wait until he fits in his Cubs uniform and hat. Starting him young.

Jessie's Birthday
November 17
The boys consumed a lot of crab which was what she wanted on the menu. Brit and I made a rainbow chip cake with rainbow chip frosting. :(

Thanksgiving

The office was closed for the week of Thanksgiving so Trav and I went down to Homer the weekend before, stayed for the weekend and then Trav flew back up to Anchorage to work Monday through Wednesday. He flew back down Wednesday night and we stayed until Sunday. I spent the whole week down there which was a really nice break. I truly tried to take a break; I read a lot and spent time with Bristol. We worked on our nets also and got those ready to go. Thanksgiving was simple. Everyone contributed in one way or the other (some simply ate). There are so many things to be thankful for. It is nice to take time to think about all of them.

Then it was off to sled. Rene was not sure she remembered how to do it, but it looks like she did just fine. Everyone escaped with no lasting injuries. Jayce and Emerald hit a tree; Jayce hit the fence post, and Warren and the twins took out Mom's small spruce tree that she planted last summer. Small things lost for fun memories.

Bristol took his first sled ride down the hill. Trav said he was smiling the whole way.

It was pretty cold, so there was only one ride down the hill then it was inside to warm up.

Back inside to read and be read to. These kids can't get enough books. It is awesome.

As every day ends with bathtime... this is the way I will end the blog update. So excited that he is finally strong enough to sit in the sink without the tub.
